The 10 persons who have been linked to a recent disturbance in Salaga in the Savannah Region have been granted bail by a court in Tamale.

They were admitted to a GHS 2,000 bail with two sureties each by the court presided over by Mr.Twumasi Appiah.

The suspects have been identified as Amuda Bawa, Seidu Alhassan, Yakubu Abu, Ibrahim Abdul-Baki and Mustapha Baki.

The rest are Ibrahim Ishmaela, Mustapha Abukari, Muftao Mustapha Ibrahim Iklilu and Yaw Sakyi Sadat.

They all pleaded not guilty to the charges of conspiracy to commit crime and causing unlawful damage.

Lawyers for the suspects prayed the court granted them bail and that was consequently granted by the court.

The court also adjourned the case to December 16, 2019.

Prosecution told the court that on February 2019, the suspects were part of a group of persons that besieged the Salaga South Constituency office of the New Patriotic Party to cause mayhem.

Items worth GHS 300,000 were destroyed as the youth set the parts of the office ablaze.

The group also chased away some firefighters who were called to the scene to douse the blaze.

They were arrested by the police on Tuesday, November 26, 2017 after investigations and subsequently arraigned.
