Recent polls conducted by Outcomes International suggest that Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, the presidential candidate of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), is poised to win the 2024 Presidential Election in Ghana, leading with 49.4% of the vote.

Former President John Mahama, the flagbearer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), trails closely with 45.1% of the vote.

The poll, conducted between August and September 2024, surveyed thousands of registered voters across all 16 regions.

According to the findings, Dr Bawumia is expected to secure victories in 11 regions, while Mahama is projected to win in 5 regions. A small percentage (0.3%) of voters indicated support for other candidates, while 5.2% remained undecided.

This poll reflects a tight race, with both Bawumia and Mahama competing closely, although Bawumia currently holds a slight edge.

The December 2024 Presidential Election is largely viewed as a two-horse race between the incumbent Vice President and the former President.
