The National Executive Council (NEC) of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) has unanimously endorsed Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh as the running mate for Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia in the upcoming 2024 general elections.
Highlighting Dr. Opoku Prempeh’s qualifications, the party’s General Secretary, Justin Kodua Frimpong, emphasized his proven track record and qualities essential for strengthening the party’s electoral prospects.
Dr. Opoku Prempeh, known as Napo, is praised for his integrity, achievements, and commitment to national welfare, qualities the party believes will contribute significantly to their campaign success.
Born on May 23, 1968, in Ashanti New Town, a suburb of Kumasi, Dr. Opoku Prempeh hails from Pakyi No. 2 in the Ashanti Region.
His educational background includes studies in Human Biology and Medicine at Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST), followed by postgraduate studies in Clinical Epidemiology at the Netherlands Institute of Health Sciences and leadership training at Harvard University’s Kennedy School of Government.
He also pursued surgical training in the UK before serving as CEO of Keyedmap Security Services Limited.
