Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh, the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) vice-presidential candidate, has issued a strong warning to anyone planning to disrupt the upcoming 2024 elections. During his campaign tour in the Asunafo South Constituency of the Ahafo Region, he assured that those caught engaging in violence before, during, or after the elections would face serious consequences.

Speaking at Noberkaw to Chiefs, Clergy, and a gathering of supporters, Dr. Opoku Prempeh emphasized that the NPP is committed to managing the nation’s resources responsibly, prioritizing the well-being of Ghanaians and fostering economic growth while protecting the environment.

He made it clear that no one, regardless of political affiliation, would be shielded from prosecution if found guilty of violent acts, reaffirming the importance of the rule of law. His remarks come in the wake of a recent clash between NPP and NDC members in Kwapong, also in Asunafo South, which nearly escalated into serious conflict.

Dr. Opoku Prempeh reiterated that those who act unlawfully would be held accountable in court, where justice would be served through the proper legal processes. He highlighted the NPP’s commitment to ensuring a peaceful and smooth 2024 general election.

Backing this, Frank Aduse Poku, the NPP’s parliamentary candidate for Asunafo South, highlighted several developmental projects initiated by the NPP government, urging voters to support the party in continuing its efforts for the constituency’s growth.
