Ivory Coast’s renowned team, ASEC Mimosas, clinched the title of the 2024 President’s Cup, an event held in honor of Ghana’s current President, H.E Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo.

Responding to an invitation from the Ghana League Clubs Association, ASEC Mimosas engaged in a thrilling showdown with Asante Kotoko for the prestigious trophy.

The clash unfolded at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium, where the Ghanaian side struggled to match the skill and determination of their Ivorian counterparts.

Just 13 minutes into the first half, ASEC Mimosas drew level with a goal from Jao, setting the stage for a gripping encounter.

In the 25th minute, Arthur extended the lead for ASEC Mimosas with another well-executed goal, securing a comfortable advantage for his team heading into halftime.

Following the break, Asante Kotoko mounted a spirited comeback effort, determined to reverse the tide of the match.

Despite their efforts, Asante Kotoko’s resurgence came too late. The Porcupine Warriors managed to narrow the deficit with a penalty converted by striker Steven Mukwala in the 83rd minute, but it proved insufficient to salvage the game.

With a narrow 2-1 victory, ASEC Mimosas emerged triumphant, claiming the title of champions in the fiercely contested 2024 President’s Cup.
