A total of 31 patients have tested negative for the novel Coronavirus in Ghana and have been discharged from admission for home care, health officials said.
The patients were part of some 161 patients undergoing treatment after they tested positive of the virus.
“Three of the confirmed cases have fully recovered and reverted to negative status for COVID-19 after repeat test following recovery from symptoms,” a statement from the Ghana Health Service said.
It added: “As at 31st March 2020, additional 31 confirmed cases have significantly improved with no symptoms and have been discharged from admission for home care pending repetition of laboratory tests. This adds to the 18 that were earlier being managed from home and bring the number of cases on home care to 49.”
Five patients have so far died from COVID-19 in Ghana.
Meanwhile, some parts of Ghana – Accra, Kumasi, Tema and Kasoa – have entered day-two of a partial lockdown to curb the spread of coronavirus in the country.
More than 37,000 people have died from COVID-19 globally, while over 780,000 infections have been confirmed in at least 178 countries and territories. More than 166,000 people have recovered from the coronavirus.
In Ghana and all countries across the world, stringent measures, including lockdowns have been declared to curb the spread of the disease.
