339 new cases send Ghana’s COVID-19 caseload to 12,929

Ghana has recorded 339 new COVID-19 cases, making the total number of confirmed coronavirus in the country 12,929.

Speaking at a press conference on Thursday, the director of public health at the Ghana Health Service, Dr. Badu Sarkodie said the death toll still stands at 66.

The number of recovered patients increased to 4,468 at the close of June 16, 2020.

Dr. Sarkodie said the new cases were recorded in 36 districts in eight regions.

Meanwhile, the deadly COVID-19 has taken the life of a three-month-old baby in Northern Ghana, Health Officials have confirmed.

The latest development has increased the death toll in the region to three.

According to the Northern Regional Health Director, Dr John Eleazer, the baby died a few moments after being transferred from the Savelugu Hospital to the Northern Regional Hospital in Tamale.

He told Accra-based Citi FM that two others are an 80-year-old lady who died in May and a 24-year-old lady who died last week.
