At least nine persons have been arrested after violence broke out between some law students and the Ghana police on Monday.

The suspects included past and previous SRC students of the Ghana School of Law.

The students took to the streets in protest of how legal education is handled.

The demonstration with the hashtag #OpenUpLegalEducation, started at the Law School in Makola Monday morning at the heart of the capital to the Jubilee House where the protesters will present a petition to President Akufo-Addo.

The students are registering their displeasure with the massive failures recorded year-in, year-out at the Ghana School of Law.

But the peaceful demonstration rather turned chaotic as police fired shots and water canons to disperse the charged law students.

This was after a disagreement ensued between the demonstrators and the police after a planned petition to be delivered to the President was turned down.

DailyMailGh.com understands that two others have sustained various degrees of injuries following the incident.
