Some twenty-two assembly members of Bosome Freho in the Ashanti Region want the District Chief Executive, Yaw Danso removed from office.
The members are accusing the DCE of abuse of office and hoarding resources meant for assemblymen.
Speaking with Asaase News one of the Assemblymen, Maxwell Boakye DeGraft, said the Presiding Member of the 30-member assembly has acknowledged receipt of a resolution for appropriate action.
He stressed that their decision was not politically motivated.
“The output of the DCE for the past six years and his relationship with the assemblymen has been a major concern. We’ve never seen a facelift. There’s been no or minimal development in the area. None of the roads leading to the district is motorable. He does virtually nothing[in the district]”, DeGraft said.
“What is happening is that we have started the process of a vote of no confidence. The PRCC led by the Presiding Member has received a copy of our document and a letter has been sent to the DCE to appear before the committee but it was held in his absence… So the motion would be moved by two-thirds of us to get him out of office”.
