The charred remains of a 74-year-old man were discovered when firefighters battled a blaze at Aburaso in the Atwima Kwanwoma Municipality of the Ashanti Region.
The fire said to have started in the early hours of Saturday left at least three others in critical condition.
The deceased got trapped when the fire started resulting in his death. He has been named as Stephen Dapaah, a former Director with the Audit Service in the Ashanti Region.
The remains of the deceased have been deposited at the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital (KATH) morgue as firemen investigate the incident.
