Ms Linda Asante, a 15-year-old student of Juaben Senior High School has been murdered by some unknown persons at Ejisu Gyamasi in the Ejisu municipality of the Ashanti Region.

Her remains were found in a bush near an uncompleted building in the community.

Media reports say Linda got missing for a week during her school’s short vacation period.

Community announcements were made in an attempt to trace her whereabouts.

Her body was discovered Friday morning with some parts chopped off.

“Her limbs, genitals and other body parts had been chopped off when we visited the scene”, explained Kofi Adade, a local reporter.

“Her hair had also been shaved”, he added.

In his estimation, the victim may have struggled with her captors before being killed, judging from the environment of the scene.

The body has been deposited at the morgue for autopsy as police investigations begin.

Partially decomposed body of a woman found in a stream

In another development, a badly decomposed body has been found in a stream at Duase, a suburb of Kumasi.

Specialist teams from the Ghana Police Service were needed to enter the “unsafe” environment, near the Sisa stream, which contained a considerable quantity of rubbish.

Assemblyman for Duase electoral area, Anthony Kwaku Agyei, told Dailymailgh.com that his attention was drawn to the decomposing body by some residents who suspected some foul smell at the vicinity.

The lifeless body of the deceased was later found Friday morning after a search.

“The body was recovered this morning after a search. She is not a resident here and so we have reported the matter to the police”, he explained.

It is not immediately known what caused the incident but police say a murder investigation has been launched.

The body has since been deposited at the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital for pending autopsy.
