Lawyers for Ghanaian actor and comedian Kwadwo Nkansah, aka Lil Win have expressed frustration at how the trial against their client continues to suffer further adjournment.

This came to light when the prosecution told the Asokore Mampong Court that the AG was yet to present its report for the full trial to commence.

Lil Win, 37, is on a GHC50,000 bail following a recent accident involving a vehicle he was driving, resulting in the death of a three-year-old boy. He has been charged with dangerous driving and negligently causing harm.

The court on Monday (29 July) adjourned sitting to 22 August, pending the Attorney General’s advice.

Speaking to Asaase News Lil Win’s legal team said even though the case has affected their client professionally and personally, they remain hopeful for a resolution that considers the tragic loss and the implications for all parties involved.

“We are waiting for the AG’s report. It is based on this report that we will know how the case will travel,” stated Lil Win’s Lead Counsel Margaret Mary Agyei Twum. “We are mindful of the fact that a young boy is dead, and this changes the narrative. We don’t want to put the family into too much tragedy.”

“This accident has really affected him. The way we wanted the movie [A country called Ghana] to go has been compromised because of the negative comments and the media hype, it has affected the movie itself”, she revealed.
