Accra: Torrential rains cause major flooding in Ghana’s capital

Seasonal rains have brought a wet weather to parts of Ghana’s capital, Accra.

Citi FM reports that major streets and households have been worse affected.

According to the news portal, portions of the Central Business District, Kwame Nkrumah Interchange, Sahara, Odawna, Shiashie, Mateheko, Kaneshie First Light, among other areas, were all not spared by the floodwaters.

There were however few showers reported in parts of Kumasi, the country’s second-most populous city.

Although there is no official statement from emergency services, weathermen had previously warned of heavy rains.
