Accra’s earth tremor measured Magnitude 4.2 – GSA

The Ghana Geological Survey Authority (GSA) said Wednesday evening’s earth tremor in Accra and its environs measured Magnitude 4.2 at the Seismic Observation Centre.

The head of GSA, Dr. Daniel Boamah, said three earth tremors were recorded on its system ie the fore shock which recorded 3.7 Magnitude, the main tremor of 4.2 Magnitude and the after shock which was 3.5 Magnitude.

Speaking to Accra-based Starr FM on Thursday, Dr. Boamah said the epicentre of the tremor was at the Dansoman beach in Accra. He advised Ghanaians to always consult the GSA before putting up their buildings to be given expert advise.

Reports reaching Dailymailgh.com indicate that the tremors were felt in parts of Greater Accra, Eastern and Central regions.

A lot of people came out as a result of fears when the third one with a heavy impact.
