Aduana Stars FC welcomed Accra Hearts of Oak to the Nana Agyemang Badu Park on Wednesday for their week one outstanding clash in Dormaa.

The Phobians were the better side for a larger part of the first 45 minutes and had good goal scoring opportunities in the early stages of the match to put their noses in front but failed to make good use of their chances.

Winger Patrick Razak and striker, Kojo Obeng Jnr both had good chances to have a shot at goal but were let down by their indecisiveness on both occasions when they were presented with a chance.

With six minutes left to the end of the first 45 minutes of the match, Yahaya Mohammed latched onto a deflected shot which could have been given as a hand ball and a penalty to Aduana to power home the opening goal from close range to make it 1-0 to the home team before the break.

Sixty seconds after the break, Prince Acquah scored a scorcher to make it 2-0 to the hosts when his over 30-yards shot found the back of the net to disorganize the Phobians early in the second half.

Hearts pushed forward in search of at least a consolation but could not find the back of the net for a third time this season in just five games into the season.

Raddy Ovouka stepped up to take a spot kick which was awarded the Rainbow Boys deep into additional time but his effort was saved by goalkeeper Joseph Addo.

A minute later, Ovouka was presented with an opportunity to redeem himself but failed to hit target though he was only confronted by an empty post.

The match ended 2-0 to Aduana Stars who picked up their first win of the 2020-21 Ghana Premier League campaign to move from the relegation zone and above Hearts on the table to occupy 5th spot on the table after five matches.

Hearts on the other hand suffered their second defeat of the season after match day five and are with five points as they drop to 10th on the league.
