Benin coach Michel Dussuyer is excited with the draw he had with Ghana in Group F of the ongoing 2019 AFCON despite having numerical advantage.

The experienced French gaffer mentioned that Ghana is a top team on the continent and managing to pull a draw against them is good for his outfit.

“It is a pleasure to play with a team like Ghana, but we did not manage to make our numerical advantage count. We scored but Ghana equalized as the big teams always do. It is a precious point for us and we have taken a big step,” Dussuyer stated after the game.

He added: “Now, we must regroup quickly and prepare for games with Guinea Bissau and Cameroon.”

The Squirrels took the lead at the Ismaily Stadium in the second minute through Adana Demispor attacker Mickael Pote before Ghana captain Andre  Ayew equalized in the 9th minute. Jordan Ayew shot Ghana ahead three minutes before recess but John Boye was sent off by Tunisian referee Youssef Essaryn in the 55th minute and eight minutes later Benin drew level pegging through Pote.
