Black Stars coach Kwesi Appiah says he is dejected following the 5-4 penalty shoot out defeat to Tunisia in the Round of 16 clash in the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations.

Appiah insists his charges played well and losing on penalties to the Carthage Eagles is a bitter pill for him to swallow.

“I feel sad,” Appiah opined after the game.

He added: “We had huge hopes, we played well but penalties weren’t on our side. This is football and we have to accept what happened, I have to support my players to come back stronger.”

Ghana were hoping to end their 37 years AFCON trophy drought in Egypt, but have to hold on more until the next edition in Cameroon in 2021.
