Medeama SC Ivorian midfielder Camara Nguessan admits the current team of the Elephants is not as strong as the one which represented at the 2015 Africa Cup of Nations.

However, he is optimistic they can still go all out at AFCON 2019 in Egypt.

Nguessan mentioned that the Elephants are parading a young team who will take time to reach the level of the 2015 AFCON winning squad.

“We have a relatively young squad, many of the players have no AFCON experience, they cannot match the team we had in 2015 but they can improve,” Nguessan told Dailymailgh.com.

“We can still do something good in Egypt. Some of the young players called are so good. Franck Kessie of AC Milan has stepped in the shoes of Yaya Toure. The only thing is people are debating over Gervinho not being called,” he stated.

Ivory Coast will face Morocco on Friday at the Al Salam Stadium after defeating South Africa 1-0 in their opening game.
