AFCON 2021: Morocco 2 – 1 Malawi – Atlas Lions ‘quench burning’ Flames to book quarter-final place

Morocco has qualified for the quarter-finals of the ongoing Africa Cup of Nations tournament in Cameroon with a hard earned narrow 2-1 against Malawi in Yaoundé in Cameroon.

Just six minutes into the game, a nice shot from great distance was unleashed by Gabadinho Mhango to open the score for Malawi in the initial phase.

Just before the half time whistle, Youssef En-Nesyri’s header from close range restored parity for the Atlas Lions at the interval.

Achraf Hakimi scored a wonderful free kick into the top right corner, to snatch the winner in the second half to break Malawians heart to reach the quarter-final.

Morocco’s star man Achraf Hakimi’s scored a terrific free-kick winner 20 minutes from time to sealed a comeback AFCON last-16 victory against Malawi in an enthralling contest.
