North aAfrican giant Morocco beat Africa Cup of Nations new boys Comoros 2-0 to book a place in the next stage of the ongoing tournament in Cameroon.
The Atlas Lions of Morocco recorded their second win of the competition on Friday evening despite a lackadaisical performance against the débutants.
Salim Amallah scored the first goal of the match to put the Moroccans in the lead at the break with a sweet finish on the 16th minute mark.
Comoros played well in the second half but lacked firepower upfront as they missed their chances with wayward finishing.
Youssef Rl-Nesyri missed a penalty on the 83rd but Aboukhlal Zakaria scored two minutes from time to give Morocco a 2-0 win to go six points on the table.
