Egypt secured their second 2-2 draw at AFCON 2024 as The Pharaohs twice fought back to hold Ghana in Abidjan.

Another draw leaves Egypt on two points from two matches so far in Group B, but the major talking point at full time was a first half injury to captain Mo Salah.

Salah immediately indicated he needed to be withdrawn just before the break with Mohammed Kudus blasting Ghana in front just seconds later.

However, Salah’s teammates responded to the challenge after the restart, with the lively Omar Marmoush slotting home after a mistake by La Liga hotshot Inaki Williams.

That triggered a wild five minutes, as Kudus’ deflected strike put Ghana back in front, before striker Mostafa Mohamed poked Egypt back level on the night.

Egypt survived a a few scares late on, but attention will quickly turn to Salah’s recovery, ahead of facing group leaders Cape Verde on January 22.
