Black Stars beat their Sudanese counterparts in the 2022 AFCON Qualifier at Cape Coast.
The Stars started the game the brighter and stood firm at the back to prevent the visitors from scoring on the counter break in the first quarter of the match.
On the 18th minute of the match, Ghana were awarded a free kick close to the goal and captain Andre Ayew stepped up to expertly hit the back of the net to put the hosts 1-0 up before half way through the first half.
In the closing stages of the opening 45 minutes, Sudan felt they should’ve been awarded a penalty after John Boye’s untimely tackle inside the box but the referee ignored the striker’s attempt to win a penalty as the continued.
On the stroke of half time, Ayew thought he had scored his second goal the match only for the referee to controversially disallow his headed effort and subsequently blew his whistle to end the first half.
Sudan came into the second half full of believe and started the half brighter causing problems for the Ghana defense.
On the 80th Minutes mark, Ayew picked up a ball from the right side of attack and went solo to score an excellent long ranger to put Ghana 2-0 up.
Two minutes later, Caleb Ekuban could have made it three but failed to take his chance after he was put through on goal as they game finished 2-0 to Ghana.
Ghana are with three wins from three games and sit top of the group as they look on course to book their cement their top spot to book a place in the 2022 AFCON tournament in Cameroon.
