Attorney General and Minister of Justice, Dr. Dominic Ayine, has vehemently dismissed Minority Leader Alexander Afenyo-Markin’s allegations concerning a search by National Security operatives at former Bank of Ghana Governor Dr. Ernest Addison’s residence.
Afenyo-Markin had alleged that during the operation, personal items—including jewelry and money belonging to Addison’s wife—were taken by the security personnel. Dr. Ayine, speaking at a press conference on Monday, March 24, 2025, condemned these claims as unfounded and described them as an “insult to the security service.”
He warned,
“If Afenyo-Markin is daring me, I will make that recording available, so he should resist maligning law enforcement officers who are conducting investigations, and myself for the work we are doing.”
Dr. Ayine also reassured the public that all investigative actions were carried out ethically and with the nation’s best interests in mind.
