New Patriotic Party (NPP) MP for Bosomtwe Dr Yaw Osei Adutwum has encouraged beneficiaries of his fully funded scholarship scheme to study hard and excel in school.
The lawmaker’s ambitious initiative would produce at least 100 engineers to help industrialise the largely agrarian area, located in the Ashanti Region.
These students, selected from various communities within the Bosomtwe Constituency, are in their third and final years at Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, University for Development Studies, University of Mines and Technology, University of Energy and Natural Resources and Kumasi Technical University studying Medicine and Engineering.
As usual of him, the MP who doubles as Ghana’s Education Minister met the beneficiaries of the scheme to update himself on happenings at their various campuses last Sunday (December 1 2023).
“I encouraged them to study hard and excel in their studies”, wrote Dr Yaw Adutwum as he shared photos of the engagement in a tweet.
“I also assured them of the completion of the Bosomtwe hostel, situated on UMAT campus and currently under construction and also fully funded by me. When completed, the hostel facility will accommodate beneficiaries of my scholarship scheme.
“My vision that Bosomtwe gets 100 Engineers within the next ten years is on course”, he stated.
