Akrofuom DCE honours outgoing Education Director for exceptional service

The Chief Executive of the Akrofuom District, Hon. Dr. Maurice Jonas Woode, has paid tribute to the outgoing District Director of Education, George Sarfo Kantanka, for his remarkable leadership and contributions to the advancement of education in the district.

In a brief ceremony held in Akrofuom, the DCE presented a traditional cloth and a citation to Mr. Sarfo Kantanka, with the event attended by members of the District Education Oversight committee, teachers, and students of the Akrofuom R/C school.

Hon. Dr. Woode commended the outgoing Education Director for his efforts in enhancing education within the district and highlighted his role in addressing teacher shortages and initiating the establishment of Technical and Vocational centers. The DCE also emphasized the importance of education in his vision to improve living conditions in the district.

Additionally, the DCE has actively supported ICT education in the district by donating computers to the District ICT Center, underscoring the commitment to enhancing the teaching and learning of ICT.

Mr. George Sarfo Kantanka expressed his optimism for the future of education in the district and praised the collaborative efforts of stakeholders, including the DCE, traditional leaders, and Assembly members, for their achievements in a short period.

He acknowledged the importance of computers in supporting ICT education and emphasized the need for continued support in this regard.
