President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has passionately advocated for the empowerment of women and youth as a means to foster resilient and thriving societies.
During his speech at the 50th anniversary celebration of the Arab Bank for Economic Development in Africa (BADEA) and the launch of the Arab-Africa financial consortium in Accra on Sunday, President Akufo-Addo underscored the pivotal role that women and youth play in national development.
He highlighted that empowering these groups is not merely a matter of social justice but is also essential for economic growth and societal resilience. “There is still a significant gender gap and high youth unemployment in many of our countries. We must take bold and decisive actions to address these issues,” he stated.
President Akufo-Addo emphasized the importance of promoting gender equality, supporting women-owned businesses, and creating opportunities for young people to secure meaningful employment and engage in self-employment. “By empowering women and youth, we can build more resilient and prosperous societies,” he concluded.
