President Akufo-Addo has nominated Kofi Adu Amoateng as Chief Executive of the Bosome Freho District Assembly of the Ashanti Region.

He replaces Yaw Danso who was suspended by the President over dodgy dealings linked to illegal mining activities.

The nomination is per Article 243 (1) of the 1992 Constitution and Section 20 (1) of the Local Government Act, Act 936 (as amended).

Local Government Minister Dan Botwe communicated the President’s decision to the Ashanti Regional Minister on Friday (28 July).

“In view of the above you are kindly requested to liaise with the Regional Electoral Commission to conduct the confirmation process of the nominated Chief Executive”, the letter further stated.
