Former Ghana star midfielder Emmanuel Osei Kuffuor is asking the Black Stars technical team to drop Andre Ayew from national team call ups as soon as possible.
The midfielder who was popularly referred to as ‘GENERAL’ during his heydays believes the Nottingham Forest forward’s time with the Black Stars is over and has nothing essential to offer to the nation again.
According to him, its time to drop the Abedi Ayew Pele’s son to make room for new talents to take the national team to a different level.
“Andre Ayew is done with the Black Stars and should be shown the exit in order to open doors for emerging talents like Kudus Mohammed,” Kuffour said in an interview with Onua Sports.
“Dede Ayew has been with the Black Stars since 2008, and it’s time to leave. Kudus Mohammed, Kamaldeen Sulemana, and others also need the space to show us what they have.”
He further added that Jordan Ayew, younger brother of the Andre still have a lot to offer the Black Stars unlike his brother.
“Andre Ayew has served and must give way,” Kuffour stated. “His younger brother Jordan is there and still has something to deliver, unlike Dede, who has fulfilled his responsibilities with the senior national team. He needs to leave and make way for others too,” he told Onua Sports.
Emmanuel Osei Kuffuor is one of the legends in Ghana football having won several laurels with Hearts of Oak including the maiden CAF Champions League.
He also played for teams like Obuasi Ashantigold SC and giant Kumasi Asante Kotoko SC during his plating career.
