Former Ghana international Mohammed Gargo says he feels proud of Stephen Appiah as the ex-Black Stars skipper did not let him down after he sacrificed for him at Udinese.
Gargo mentioned that he had to fake injury for Appiah who had then just been promoted from the Primavera squad to get his chance and he never disappointed.
“It is very true that in one game, Appiah was on the bench and I had to delibrately fake injury to go out for him to play as we were playing the same position,” Gargo told Light FM.
“I sacrificed a lot for Stephen, my home and most of my stuffs for him to reach that level and God being so good he didn’t disappoint me and the world.”
Appiah, who operated as a box-to-box midfielder during his early days with Udinese spent three years at the Stadio Fruili before joining Parma in 2000.
