A warrant has been issued for the arrest of a young man, who allegedly shot and killed a 15-year-old girl in Kumasi, the Ashanti Regional capital.

The suspect, named as Baba Adamu, also known as ‘MP’ reportedly shot and killed Diana Adomako without any provocation at Aboabo Number 2 Bus Stop just after midnight on March 21.

Ashanti Regional Police Spokesperson, ASP Godwin Ahianyo, told newsmen ‘MP’ went into hiding after the heinous crime.

Very little information is known about the fugitive suspect, but police said on Tuesday that a massive manhunt is underway to arrest him to face the law.

Diana was confirmed dead by medics at the Manhyia Government Hospital in Kumasi where she was rushed for medical attention.

The development sparked tension among rival youth groups in the locality raising concerns about possible reprisal attacks.

As part of frantic efforts to apprehend the suspect, police has secured the warrant with a passionate appeal to members of the public provide information about his whereabouts.

“The Police Command is appealing to the general public that anyone with information about Baba Adamu or his whereabouts should kindly inform the nearest police station,” a police statement sighted by Dailymailgh.com read in part.
