Kumasi Asante Kotoko SC suffered their second defeat in the Ghana Premier League week ten clash to Aduana Stars in Accra on Sunday night.
The Porcupine Warriors succumbed to a 1 – 0 loss at home for the second this season after they lost by same margin against Accra Great Olympics at the same venue.
Asante Kotoko were the better side right from the blast of the referee’s whistle and dominated the game with some eye-catching and brilliant display in the first quarter of the match.
After fifteen minutes of the match, Aduana Stars FC warmed themselves into the game but could not outwit their opponents as the hosts continued to play good football to entertain their fans at the stadium.
The opening 45 minutes of the match ended goalless with Kotoko being the better side.
After the recess, Kotoko picked up from where they left off and continued with their dominance until Habib Mohammed got stretched off due to injury.
Coach Paa Kwesi Fabin brought on Samuel Bioh and his inclusion in the Aduana Stars set up changes the face of the game and gave a new dimension to the visitor’s attack.
On the 75th of the match, Samuel Bioh reacted quickest in the box to pounce on a loose ball into the top corner of the net to make it 1-0 to the away team with 15 minutes left on the clock.
Aduana Stars held on and inflicted a second defeat on the Porcupines to pick their first away win of the campaign with a hard earned 1-0.
Kotoko missed a chance to go top of the league and will do battle against regional rivals Ashantigold SC in Obuasi next Sunday whiles Aduana Stars hosts Ebusua Dwarfs in Dormaa.
Aduana Stars moves to second place on the league table whiles Kotoko drop to six after ten matches.
