A team of health officers is investigating the rising cases of Rabies and its related deaths in the Ashanti Region.
The Ghana Health Service says at least four cases have been reported in Bosomtwe District, the Asante Akyem South, and the Kwabre East Municipalities.
As of Monday 12th September, 2022, the region has recorded 4 confirmed cases and 1-Probable case”, a statement signed by the Ghana Health Service said. “The cases were reported from Asante Akim South, Bosomtwe and Kwabre East. The case fatality was 100%.”
The statement signed by Regional Health Director Dr. Emmanuel Tinkorang however announced a raft of measures to contain the disease, including public awareness.
