Police in the Ashanti region have arrested two key suspects in connection with a shooting incident that happened at the Ashanti Regional office of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC).
Gafar Musah, popularly known as Element, and Jah Rule Fuseini— who have been on police wanted list, were arrested through a special operation by the police.
Police sources at the command tell DailymailGH that the suspects are the brain behind the incident which occurred on February 18, 2019.
One person identified as Abdul Wasiu was declared dead after he sustained multiple gunshot wounds in a scuffle between some aggrieved members of the NDC taskforce at the party office.
Another person, Abdul Rahman was rushed to the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital after he survived with severe gunshot wounds.
The source at the Regional Command reveals that the two latest suspects were arrested at separate locations on Monday after painstaking investigations by the police for the past eight months.
“So Gafar Musah was arrested at his hideout near Tech while Jah Rule Fuseini was also arrested at Tafo”, the source told DailyMailGH.com.
It is gathered that the two have been detained at the Ashanti Regional Police Headquarters to assist in investigations— pending an appearance in court.
Family and relatives of Abdul Wasiu, who are aware of the development say they are monitoring keenly.
The latest arrest brings to six, the number of arrests made so far by the police. Four out of the number are standing trial at the Asokwa District Court.
