Atiwa East: Abena Osei-Asare leads sod-cutting ceremony for new KG block at Akyem Sekyere Presby School

A sod-cutting ceremony has been performed for the construction of a kindergarten block for the Akyem Sekyere Presby School District in the Atiwa East District of the Eastern Region.

The event, held on Friday (31 May), marked a pivotal moment for the community, signalling the commencement of a project aimed at replacing the old kindergarten building.

Addressing attendees, the MP for the area Abena Osei-Asare (MP) underscored the pivotal role of kindergarten education in shaping the future of children, emphasizing its foundational importance in fostering inclusive and robust learning environments.

She highlighted the commitment of the NPP government to bolstering early childhood education as a cornerstone of national development.

Expressing gratitude to the Chief and the local community for their steadfast support, Osei-Asare called upon residents to take ownership of the initiative.

She urged collaboration with the appointed contractor to ensure the timely completion of the new classroom block, which promises to provide a conducive space for the educational growth of young learners.

The project is set to not only modernize the educational infrastructure at Akyem Sekyere Presby School but also to exemplify the government’s dedication to advancing accessible and quality education across Atiwa East.
