The Member of Parliament for Akim Abuakwa South, Samuel Atta Akyea, has emphasized that Ghana’s future prosperity lies with the New Patriotic Party (NPP), particularly under the visionary leadership of Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia. Atta Akyea contends that Dr. Bawumia offers a promising and progressive direction for the nation, unlike former President John Dramani Mahama, whom he describes as an outdated and recycled choice.

Speaking ahead of the NPP’s manifesto launch in Takoradi, Atta Akyea highlighted the party’s history of introducing innovative and impactful policies, such as the transformative Free SHS initiative. He expressed confidence that the NPP, with Bawumia at the helm, would continue to drive Ghana’s development forward.

“After the manifesto launch, we should all see that the future of this country is not with the recycled Mahama but with Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia,” Atta Akyea stated.

He further asserted the NPP’s consistent track record in implementing policies that alleviate poverty, noting, “Anything of consequence that will alleviate poverty always comes from the NPP. So you are going to see another level of serious issues and a blueprint that we will depend on to overcome the current economic difficulties.”

Atta Akyea also criticized Mahama’s proposal to offer free education to first-year university students, dismissing it as a superficial initiative that lacks the depth and foresight of the NPP’s flagship programs.

“You don’t have any sense of Free SHS; it came from the NPP and represents a paradigm shift. It aims to empower the nation for the next 20 years,” he pointed out.

He concluded by underscoring that the forthcoming NPP manifesto would introduce bold and forward-thinking strategies designed to address the country’s pressing economic challenges.
