Bawku Central MP Mahama Ayariga has called on the people of the Northern Region to make a decisive choice between the two Northern presidential candidates in the upcoming 7 December elections.
Speaking at the NDC campaign launch in Tamale on Saturday (27 July) Ayariga emphasized that John Dramani Mahama, the flagbearer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), is a better choice than Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, the flagbearer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP).
Ayariga highlighted Mahama’s successful tenure as chairman of the economic management team, during which Ghana achieved the world’s highest economic growth rate of 14.5% in 2010.
“Under Mahama’s leadership, we saw unprecedented economic growth and stability,” Ayariga said.
In contrast, he criticized Dr. Bawumia’s role in the current government, citing the collapse of the banking and financial sectors as evidence of economic mismanagement.
“Bawumia’s tenure has been marked by significant economic failures, including the collapse of our banking and financial sectors,” he noted.
Ayariga stressed the importance of the upcoming election in determining the country’s future direction.
“This election is crucial for the future of our nation. We need to restore good governance, prosperity, and fairness,” he urged. “Voting for John Mahama is the best way to achieve these goals.”
