Ghanaian skipper Andre Ayew will officially begin training with English championship side Swansea City Sunday.
Ayew was given a longer break following his involvement with the Black Stars in the 2019 AFCON. He is back to base and will start training today with the rest of the squad who did not play against Derby County on Saturday.
Swansea were keen to offload Ayew this summer because of his high wages as they have a very moderate budget for the English second tier but no offer came and manager Steve Cooper has decided to keep him after a crunch meeting midweek.
Ayew could thus feature in Swansea’s game against Northampton at the Liberty Stadium on Saturday if his physical condition is good.
He featured last season on loan with Turkish Superlig outfit Fenerbahce where he netted four goals.
