Fans favourite Daniel Kofi Kyereh’s season at SC Freiburg in the German Bundesliga has come to an end following a career threatening injury.

The midfield-gem who dazzled for Ghana at the World Cup just last November, Kofi Kyereh tore his cruciate ligament in training and will be out for the rest of the season.

In Thursday’s training, Kofi Kyereh twisted his knee in a duel. An examination in the Freiburg University Hospital resulted in the diagnosis of a cruciate ligament rupture.

The Ghana International will undergo operation in the next few days which will keep him on the sidelines . The attacking player will no longer be available this season and will likely most return in June.

He was at the 2022 FIFA World Cup tournament in Qatar with Ghana’s Black Stars when Ghana failed to make it out of the group stages.

He’s been phenomenal for club this season in both the UEFA Europa League and Germany Bundesliga.

The 25-year-old Ghana midfielder has two goals in 12 games this season in the German Bundesliga for the Breisgau-Brasilianers.

He also had a goal and assist in five UEFA Europa League games this campaign for Freiburg.
