Spanish La Liga side Barcelona have Ghanaian youngster Gideon Mensah on their transfer radar as they seek a long-term replacement for Jordi Alba.
Mensah who plays for Austrian giants Red Bull Salzburg had an impressive game against Barcelona’s eternal rivals Real Madrid in the pre-season, triggering interest from the Catalans.
Barcelona are on the verge of losing Juan Miranda on loan to Olympique Marseille and Mensah could be sign as his replacement in the Team B and also deputise for Alba in the main team.
According to close sources in Spain, Barcelona are likely to get Mensah on loan with an option to buy at the end of the season.
He featured for Sturm Graz last season where he made 15 Austrian Bundesliga appearances.
