Ernest Kofi Owusu-Bempah, the Deputy Director of Communications for the New Patriotic Party (NPP), has hailed Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia as a transformative leader. According to Owusu-Bempah, Dr. Bawumia’s vision and focus are crucial for the country’s progress, distinguishing him from the National Democratic Congress (NDC) flagbearer, former President John Dramani Mahama.
In an interview with journalists in Accra on August 1, Owusu-Bempah stated, “Bawumia is a transformational leader.” He elaborated that Dr. Bawumia’s conduct signifies a promising future for Ghana, reflecting a commitment to national development.
Owusu-Bempah also addressed criticisms from the NDC, who have labeled Dr. Bawumia as a liar. He challenged the NDC to identify any specific instance where Dr. Bawumia’s statements about the economy have proven false. “What has Bawumia said that shows he is a liar? What the NDC is doing is goblin propaganda—telling a lie repeatedly until it is believed to be true,” Owusu-Bempah argued. He further urged the NDC to substantiate their claims by pointing out any promises Dr. Bawumia has failed to fulfill.
As Dr. Bawumia prepares to run for the presidency in the 2024 elections as the NPP’s candidate, Owusu-Bempah remains confident in his achievements and the accuracy of his statements.
