During the launch of the NPP Manifesto in Takoradi on Sunday, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, Vice President and flagbearer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), made a compelling appeal to Ghanaian youth to support his candidacy in the December 7 elections.

Addressing a lively crowd, Bawumia highlighted the transformative impact his leadership could have on Ghana’s future. He emphasized the central role he envisions for young people in his administration and urged them to consider his track record, integrity, and bold plans for progress.

“To the youth of our country, please lend me your ears,” Bawumia said, outlining his experience and commitment to delivering tangible solutions for the nation. “Our nation stands at a crossroads as we approach the December 2024 elections. I believe I am best positioned to serve as your next President.”

Bawumia spoke about his accomplishments over the past seven years, praising his tenure with President Akufo-Addo for tackling significant public service issues. He highlighted his background, from academic achievements to roles at the Bank of Ghana, the African Development Bank, and as Vice President, underscoring his focus on competence and results.

“As an experienced professional with impeccable credentials, I am ready to apply my expertise to national governance, driven by a commitment to transformation,” he declared. He also addressed ongoing challenges such as youth unemployment, promising to build on economic progress to create more job opportunities. “To the Gen Zs, I am your ‘plug’ to a prosperous Ghana and decent-paying jobs,” he assured.

In concluding his address, Bawumia presented his 2024 manifesto, describing it as a beacon of hope and opportunity: “It is ‘giving’ hope, ‘giving’ vibes, and ‘giving’ jobs,” he stated.
