Former Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia has come to the aid of traders affected by the recent fire outbreak at Adum, Kumasi. To support their recovery, he has donated GH¢200,000 and 1,000 bags of cement to help them rebuild their businesses.

The devastating fire, which occurred on Friday, March 24, caused massive destruction in the busy commercial area. Several shops and stalls were completely burned down, leading to the loss of goods worth millions of Ghana cedis.

On Tuesday, March 25, Dr. Bawumia visited the site of the disaster to express his sympathy to the affected traders. While addressing them, he emphasized the need for collective support from individuals and businesses to aid in their recovery.

“I am donating GH¢200,000 and 1,000 bags to the victims, and I urge private individuals to also support the traders in getting their livelihoods back,” he stated.

His gesture has been widely appreciated, with many hoping that other well-meaning Ghanaians and organizations will also extend their help to those impacted by the fire.
