The Vice President of Ghana, Dr. Mahamadu Bawumia, has demonstrated unwavering support for the Black Stars by generously donating GHS500,000 ahead of their crucial 2026 World Cup Qualifier against the Central African Republic (CAR).

Set to unfold on Monday, June 10, at the Baba Yara Stadium in Kumasi, the upcoming match holds immense significance for Ghana as they strive to maintain their momentum following a triumphant 2-1 comeback victory against Mali in Bamako.

Otto Addo’s side’s recent win propelled them to third place in Group I standings, setting the stage for a potentially pivotal encounter against CAR. A victory in this match would see Ghana accumulate nine points from their opening four games, marking a significant improvement from their previous loss to Comoros.

In a heartfelt gesture of solidarity, Vice President Bawumia paid a visit to the team’s hotel in Kumasi to offer words of encouragement and bolster the players’ morale ahead of the crucial home game. During his visit, he made a substantial donation to the team, symbolizing the nation’s unwavering support for their endeavors on the pitch.

Accompanying the Vice President were Sports Minister Mustapha Ussif and GFA President Kurt Okraku, underscoring the collective commitment of the nation’s leadership to the success and triumph of the Black Stars.
