Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) flagbearer, has urged former President John Dramani Mahama of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) to reflect on his own track record when discussing economic mismanagement under the Akufo-Addo administration.
Speaking at a press conference in Accra on Sunday, Dr. Bawumia expressed his surprise at Mr. Mahama’s critiques. “Sometimes I get amazed when former President Mahama talks about economic mismanagement. He should know his own record,” Dr. Bawumia remarked.
He emphasized that Ghana needs progress, not a complete overhaul. “What this country needs is an upgrade, not a reset,” Dr. Bawumia stated, adding that if given the mandate, he would implement the strategies detailed in the NPP’s recently launched manifesto to revitalize the economy.
