President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has officially endorsed the ticket of Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia and Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh for the New Patriotic Party (NPP), expressing unwavering confidence in their leadership capabilities ahead of the 2024 general elections.
The endorsement follows the National Council of the NPP’s confirmation of Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh, popularly known as Napo, as the running mate to Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia.
President Akufo-Addo, speaking to journalists after the confirmation on Thursday, July 4, expressed enthusiasm for the ticket, describing it as an “excellent pairing” poised to secure victory for the NPP in December 2024.
“National Council has endorsed the nomination of Dr. Mathew Opoku Prempeh to be the running mate of Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia,” President Akufo-Addo affirmed. “The NPP has an excellent ticket and we’re going to win with this ticket on 7th December 2024, that’s the news. The feeling is good, they make a very good pair, and they are going to win.”
The President’s endorsement underscores his confidence in the leadership and vision of Dr. Bawumia and Dr. Prempeh, highlighting their ability to unify the party and effectively communicate their transformative agenda to the electorate.
