Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, the New Patriotic Party (NPP) flagbearer, has pledged to address the funding challenges faced by traders and businesses if elected.

Speaking during his tour of the Ablekuma North and Ablekuma West constituencies, Dr. Bawumia outlined his commitment to easing capital access for Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (SMEs) and traders.

Dr. Bawumia proposed two key initiatives: the Women’s Trade Empowerment Fund and the establishment of an SME bank. He stressed that securing funds is a major hurdle for businesses and promised that his government would implement solutions to this problem.

During his tour, which featured meet-and-greet sessions and stakeholder engagements, Dr. Bawumia emphasized his dedication to improving Ghanaians’ lives through enhanced financial support mechanisms. He stated.

“The NPP wants to propose a new initiative to support businessmen. We want to support you. We are aware your biggest challenge is funding. You need funding to boost your businesses. Without funding, you’re unable to promote your trade. Therefore, we are proposing two policies. One is the Women’s Trade Empowerment Fund, which is designed to help women support their businesses.”
