Vice-President Dr Mahamudu Bawumia has called on Muslim communities across Ghana to strive to emulate the exemplary life of the Holy Prophet Mohammed and live disciplined lives.
This, according to Dr Bawumia, will not only be beneficial to Muslim communities but Ghana as a whole.
The vice-president gave the advice when he joined Al-Khalifa Sheikh Ustaz Yusha Babal-Waiz (Hujjatul-Islam III), Dr. Shiehk Osman Nuhu Sharubutu, the National Chief Imam; Dr. Ibrahim Ahmad Maqari, Imam of the Central Mosque in Abuja, Nigeria; and the Wataniya Islamic Council for the 75th annual Maulid celebration to commemorate the birth of Prophet Mohammed (S.A.W) in Kumasi on Saturday, 9 November 2019.
The Wataniya Council of Elders and fraternity reaffirmed their commitment and support to the success of policy initiatives instituted by President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo’s administration for Zongo communities such as the Zongo development fund, Allowances for Arabic Instructors, Free SHS, Nation Builders Corps (NaBCo), Vocational Skills Training for Zongos, and Mini-parks in various Zongos.
Dr Bawumia assured the Muslim community of the government’s agenda of making inclusive development across Ghana a priority and urged all to support it.
