Beatrice Annan, speaking for the John Mahama campaign team, boldly asserts that President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has no legacy worth celebrating. She voices this sentiment at a modest gathering in Doboro, where President Akufo-Addo, in turn, warns against the potential consequences of electing former President John Dramani Mahama, suggesting that such a choice could undermine the progress achieved under his leadership and alter the nation’s trajectory.
Responding to President Akufo-Addo’s cautionary remarks, Mr. Mahama adamantly states that he does not aim to perpetuate the legacy of corruption, poor governance, and arrogance associated with his predecessor. He unequivocally declares his stance, asserting, “Of course, I will not protect your ‘legacy’ of corruption, misgovernance, arrogance, ineptitude, bankrupt economy, increased unemployment, and pushing more of our people into the poverty bracket,” as documented in a post on X.
In an interview with Selorm Adonoo on Citi FM’s Eyewitness News, Mrs. Annan echoes her leader’s sentiments, characterizing the current administration as the most ineffectual in the nation’s history. “This president has no legacy…We are talking about a government that just last March the President himself was in parliament to admit that the state of our country today is worse off than it was 40 years ago. These are not the words of the NDC,” she passionately expresses.
