The Electoral Commission (EC) has disqualified Bernard Mornah of the People’s National Convention (PNC) and Janet Nabla of the People’s National Party (PNP) from contesting in the December 7, 2024, presidential elections.

In a statement issued on Friday, September 20, 2024, the EC detailed the outcome of its review of nomination forms submitted during the filing process between September 9 and September 13.

The disqualified candidates include prominent figures like Nana Stephens Adjepong, Paul Perkoh, James Kwesi Oppong, John Enyonam Kwakwu Kpikpi, Dr. Samuel Sampong Ankrah, and Nii Amu Darko.

Also disqualified are Samuel Apea-Danquah, Desmond Abrefah, and Kofi Asamoah Siaw of the Progressive People’s Party.

The EC explained that these individuals failed to meet key legal requirements after a thorough examination of their nomination forms. Meanwhile, several other candidates have successfully completed the nomination process and have been cleared to participate in the 2024 presidential election.
