Ghana’s Black Galaxies captain Gladson Awako says the team is determined to bring back smiles on the faces of Ghanaians this month in Algeria.
The captain of the local senior national team believes the team has what it takes to deliver for the nation at the 2023 Africa Nations Championship (CHAN) tournament in Algeria which starts next week Friday.
According to him, the Black Galaxies team will right the wrongs of the Black Stars and bring happiness into the lives of football lovers and enthusiasts in the country following a catastrophic world cup performance by the Black Stars last year.
Awako claims that the team is eager to succeed at the CHAN competition so Ghanaians can forget about the team’s performance at the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.
“We are calm and relaxed,” he said in an interview with the GFA.
“We are just waiting for the day to get on the pitch and make sure we make our nation proud and each and everyone out there; make everyone proud and clean all the wrongs that happened and whatever that didn’t go well at the World Cup. We will make sure to put smiles on the faces of Ghanaians.”
The 2023 CHAN tournament is scheduled to start on January 13.
